History Club: Edward III to Elizabeth I - Full Series
Starting on Friday 28th February, I will be offering a ten-part History Club across 8 weeks, finishing just after Easter on Friday 25th April. You can save 25% by booking here for the whole series.
The Club will cover a timespan of almost 300 years, from the accession of Edward III to the death of Elizabeth I, 1327-1603. This period can be described as the late Medieval & Gothic period to the Early Modern era, the dawn of the Renaissance.
Edward III, sometimes referred to as "The Father of the English Nation" was the last of the "Arthurian" style kings, those associated with the real age of chivalry. He happens to share my birthday (13th November) and thus I take a special interest in his reign, which lasted for 50 years.
This series will include watching video adaptations, asking questions about the key players in each monarch's reign and discussing our own thoughts and persepctives on the figures concerned and their effect on the Britain we know today. I will also share some of my own fiction and short stories inspired by some of the kings and queens.
You can buy a place week-by-week (I'll be updating the topic and date as we go), or a discounted price for the whole series.
